The moderators reserve the right to edit these rules at any time, based on policy decisions made during the ongoing running of this site. You are free to challenge any rules that you feel are unreasonable or unfair, and the moderators will give careful consideration to each case. The publisher's decision is final in any disputes. The moderating team reserve the right to delete any post from V-Flyer without notice.

Go To Top Of PageRegistering

The only required fields are your Username, which may be your real name or a nickname, and a valid e-mail address.

You are not allowed to maintain multiple active user accounts (known as 'Sock puppets'), in order to mislead others on the forum; for instance 'Good Hand, Bad Hand' accounts. It is, however, permissable to open multiple accounts if these are for your spouse or other family members.

If you believe someone is sending you advertisements as a result of the information you provided through your registration, please notify us immediately.

Go To Top Of PageCreating a Hyperlink in your message

You can easily add a hyperlink to your message.

All that you need to do is type the URL (http://www.v-flyer.com/forum/), and it will automatically be converted to a URL (http://www.v-flyer.com/forum/)!

The trick here is to make sure you prefix your URL with the http://, https:// or file://

You can also add a mailto link to your message by typing in your e-mail address.

This Example:
registration@v-flyer.com
Outputs this:
registration@v-flyer.com

Another way to add hyperlinks is to use the [url]linkto[/url] tags

This Example:
[url]http://www.v-flyer.com/forum/[/url] takes you home!
Outputs This:
http://www.v-flyer.com/forum/ takes you home!

If you use this tag: [url="linkto"]description[/url] you can add a description to the link.

This Example:
Take me to [url="http://www.v-flyer.com/forum/"]V-Flyer[/url]
Outputs This:
Take me to V-Flyer
This Example:
If you have a question [url="registration@v-flyer.com"]E-Mail Me[/url]
Outputs This:
If you have a question E-Mail Me

You can make clickable images by combining the [url="linkto"]description[/url] and [img]image_url[/img] tags
This Example:
[url="http://www.v-flyer.com/forum/"][img]http://www.v-flyer.com/furniture/topbar_logo.jpg[/img][/url]
Outputs This:

Go To Top Of PageLanguage of the Forum

The language used on this site is English (although Decker has been known to slip into Latin on occasion). For the sake of clarity, please check your spelling and grammar - badly composed posts are difficult to make sense of and are easily misinterpreted.

We do not use 'Text Speak' in the forums - you are not entering a message on a mobile phone, so use of extreme abbreviations is unnecessary. Members who ignore this rule will be politely directed to this FAQ, and members who continue to ignore this rule will be politely asked to try a different forum.

Go To Top Of PageCensoring Posts

The Forum does censor certain words that may be posted; however, this censoring is not an exact science, and is being done based on the words that are being screened, so certain words may be censored out of context. By default, words that are censored are replaced with asterisks.

If you engage in "flamebait", sometimes known as "Troll" (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internet_troll) your account will be locked without notice. The V-Flyer forums are designed for people with a genuine interested in flying, not as a place to play Internet mind games. Trolling is not tollerated in these Forums. This also applies to ad hominems (personal attacks to invalidate someone's argument). We strictly enforce a non-discrimination policy on V-Flyer, and any posts which are blantly racist, sexist, homophobic or discriminate against others in any way are likely to be deleted and your account may also be suspended, following review by the moderation team.

The V-Flyer forums have some restrictions on what is considered appropriate. The Moderators reserve the right to delete posts which are off-topic, offensive or blatant advertising. It is ok to include links to related sites in your posts, but simply posting 'visit my webpage' is blatant advertising. Continual abuse of the forums will lead to your account being locked. This may seem harsh, but the quality of these forums must be maintained for the enjoyment of others.

The use of a member of staff's real name is forbidden in the forum unless they have given their permission to use it, and fully understand that this will appear in a public forum. A moderator may edit your post if you use a real name, and permission hasn't been provided.

Please note that the rules that apply to public posts also apply to the use of the Private Messaging system, which may not be used to engage other V-Flyer members in personal attacks of a racist, sexist or homophobic nature, nor do we tolerate use of the Private Messaging system for spam, phishing, fraud or harassment. If you have received a Private Message that you believe breaches these rules, please forward it to a moderator an we will deal with it as a matter of priority.

Go To Top Of PageAllowed Posts

In order to maintain the quality and value of the site, all discussions of Tier Point and Upgrade strategies are limited to the members-only Clubhouse forum. Note that if you make a post about this subject one of the moderators may move it into the Clubhouse. You will require a membership in order to access topics stored in the Clubhouse.

Go To Top Of PageLost Password

Changing a lost password is simple, assuming that e-mail features are turned on for this forum. All of the pages that require you to identify yourself with your Username and Password carry a "lost Password" link that you can use to have a code e-mailed instantly to your e-mail address of record that will allow you to create a new password. Because of the Encryption that we use for your password, we cannot tell you what your password is.

Go To Top Of PageCan I be notified by e-mail when there are new posts?

Yes, the Subscription feature allows you to subscribe to the entire Board, individual Categories, Forums and/or Topics, depending on what the administrator of this site allows. You will receive an e-mail notifying you of a post that has been made to the Category/Forum/Topic that you have subscribed to. There are four levels of subscription:

- Board Wide Subscription
If you can subscribe to an entire Board, you'll get a notification for any posts made within all the forums inside that board.

- Category Wide Subscription
You can subscribe to an entire Category, which will notify you if there was any posts made within any topic, within any forum, within that Category.

- Forum Wide Subscription
If you don't want to subscribe to an entire Category, you can subscribe to a single forum. This will notify you of any posts made within any topic, within that forum.

- Topic Wide Subscription
More conveniently, you can subscribe to just an individual topic. You will be notified of any post made within that topic.
Each level of subscription is optional. The administrator can turn On/Off each level of subscription for each Category/Forum/Topic.
To Subscribe or Unsubscribe from any level of subscription, you can use the "My Subscriptions" link, located near the top of each page to manage your subscriptions. Or you can click on the subscribe/unsubscribe icons (Subscribe UnSubscribe) for that Category/Forum/Topic you want to subscribe/unsubscribe to/from.

Unfortunately the Subscription feature is now unavailable due to technical issues.
